A MAN who drove a Land Rover Defender while disqualified from getting behind the wheel has been given a suspended prison sentence.

Blackburn Magistrates Court heard how 34-year-old Mark Benjamin Cradock committed the offence in Blackburn on January 16.

The court was told that on the same day Cradock wilfully obstructed PC Neil Goodison.

Cradock pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and wilfully obstructing a constable in the execution of his duty.

He was sentenced to four months imprisonment but magistrates suspended it for 12 months.

Cradock, of Gallows Lane, Dutton, was also banned from driving for 12 months and made subject of a four-month curfew which means he cannot leave his home address between 8pm and 12am.

Magistrates also ordered him to pay £85 prosecution costs and a £115 surcharge to fund victim services.

A magistrates court spokesman said: “The defendant’s guilty plea was taken into account when imposing sentence.”
