HEALTHWATCH Blackburn with Darwen will be working to increase dementia awareness in the community.
The volunteer group will be taking part in the Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Friends programme to tackle the stigma and lack of understanding around dementia
The programme will include free information sessions for Healthwatch volunteers.
Sharon Hardman has been trained as a Dementia Friends Champion and will be delivering the sessions.
She said: "I signed up to be a Dementia Friends Champion because one small action can make a big difference to someone with dementia.
"It is important to encourage everyone to make a positive difference to people living with dementia.
