CALLS have been made for traffic calming measures after an accident in Blackburn this morning.

Emergency services were called after the crash between two cars in Whinney Lane.

A police spokeswoman said: "We were called at 8.40am to a collision between two cars - a black Honda Civic and a black VW Golf.

"The ambulance also attended."

One eyewitness said: "I am sure this gives reason for calming measures on Whinney Lane now.

"It won't be long until there is a fatality.

"People use the lane as a rat run during school drop off time and from 4.30pm to 6pm."
