AN artist from Blackburn has won the main Selectors’ Choice award at the Ribble Valley Open exhibition 2017.

Adrienne Seed will have her ‘Magic Lantern’ a painting on canvas in oil and acrylic and other work exhibited in Clitheroe Castle Museum Steward’s Gallery next year.

The traditional oil on board painting, ‘Maat, Goddess of Harmony, Justice and Truth’ by Cedric Charleuf has won the Ribble Valley prize.

The French-born artist who has lives in the Ribble Vallewill see hiswork on show at the Platform Gallery next year.

The current Ribble Valley Open Art Exhibition runs until Sunday October 8.

County Councillor Peter Buckley, Lancashire County Council cabinet member for cabinet member for community and cultural services, said: “I’m sure visitors will be impressed by the high quality of work by these local artists.
