THE family of a 30-year-old who died from cancer said he has been given the ‘best send off possible’.

The funeral for Adam Livesey, from Clayton-le-Moors, took place on Monday and hundreds attended to pay their respects.

A McLaren sports car was present on the day to honour the car fan.

Guests also gathered outside Accrington Crematorium for the event, as there was not enough space for everyone to fit inside.

Sister Laura Archer, 34, said: “The funeral was absolutely unbelievable.

“He has so many friends old and new come along, some who had known him his whole life, some who had only just met him.

“Before it started we were driving down the motorway behind a McLaren, which really set the mood for the day.

“It was just a celebration of his life.

“Everyone has been brilliant, we’ve had nothing but nice things said about him.”

The family also confirmed they are planning to carry out future events to raise money in memory of Mr Livesey.

Previously more than £8,500 had been raised for potential bowel cancer treatment options, which will now be donated to charity in his memory.
