TWO people were taken to hospital with what police described as ‘serious injuries’ after an incident in Great Harwood in the early hours of Friday. 


One woman has been arrested after a report of a serious assault, police said.

A police spokeswoman said they were called to reports of a domestic incident at around 1.45am in Loynd Street. 

"A 52-year-old man suffered injuries to his neck and a 40-year-old woman suffered facial injuries," she said. 

"Both are receiving treatment at Royal Blackburn Hospital.

"Their injuries are not thought to be life threatening."

The 40-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding.

Enquiries are ongoing.
