A MAN is set to stand trial over allegations he stole items including Star Trek magazines and scrap metal.
Preston Magistrates Court heard how Rafique Shaban, 42, of Dalton Street, Nelson, stole £1,890 of tools and scrap metal from a site container at Brook Street Mill, Nelson, on March 20. He also caused £700 of damage to the contained.

He pleaded guilty to those offences but pleaded not guilty to three further allegations of theft.
He is said to have, on March 31, stolen led flashing belonging to Naheem Younis in Nelson and on April 13 stealing various magazines, including Star Trek magazines, from Scotland Road News, Nelson, and £282 of lightbulbs from Wilkinsons Stores, Nelson.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Blackburn Magistrates Court.
