THE Woodnook regeneration project in Accrington has collected a prize at a regional awards ceremony.
Hyndburn Council and developer PlaceFirst won the ‘Public/Private Partnership of the Year Award’ at the Insider North West Residential Property Awards.

The £15.5million partnership involved the refurbishment of more than 150 empty homes, a range of environmental improvements and the creation of two new public spaces.
Cllr Clare Cleary, cabinet member for regeneration and housing, said: “We are very proud of this innovative partnership with PlaceFirst which is creating a thriving community of new family housing in Woodnook.
“Demand for housing in Woodnook has returned and it’s now a desirable place to live once again.”
PlaceFirst submitted the nomination on behalf of the partnership.
David Smith-Milne of PlaceFirst said: “We are delighted with the award for best public/private partnership with Hyndburn Council.”
