THREE cars crashed on the A56 near Rising Bridge roundabout, police said.
Insp Andy Winter said a Ford Iveco van, a Ford Fiesta and a Vauxhall Insignia were involved in two separate crashes northbound and southbound between the roundabout and junction eight of the M65.
He said: "A female driver suffered a very minor injury to her hand.
"It is unclear which side of the road the cars collided on."
Burnley police tweeted: "The A56 northbound at Rising Bridge is closed due to a road traffic collision.
"Traffic diverting through Accrington."
The road has now been reopened.
