PEOPLE in East Lancashire who have served in the armed forces can receive support from Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust’s Military Veterans’ Service.

The transition from veteran to civilian life can be difficult and often those who have served in the armed forces can struggle in seeking the support they need, the trust has said.

The Military Veterans’ Service wants to remind people of the support available for anyone experiencing mental health problems or difficulties adjusting back to normal life.

Joe Crocock, military veterans service manager at the trust, said: “Adapting to the change in lifestyle when leaving the armed forces can be extremely hard and no one should suffer alone.

"We want to encourage veterans experiencing mental health problems such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety or those dealing with substance misuse to get in touch with the service.

"The service is made up of a team of specialists who understand the culture of the armed forces and can provide help for anyone who is experiencing emotional difficulties and also wanting to develop their skills and look for new employment.”

The Military Veterans’ Service is a partnership between Lancashire Care and Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust.
