DETAILS of Darwen Town Council’s April income and expenditure have been made public.

It received a £10,492.54 VAT refund, £1,000 from Lancashire Police for body worn video cameras; £1,000 from Walter Chadwick for catering vans; and £61,000 from Blackburn with Darwen Borough for its precept on the council tax.

Payments included £416.49 to clerk Rebecca Hay for her salary and expenses and £24.72 to her pension scheme; £6,300 to the Satellite Agency Ltd for bands at Darwen Live, and £126.04 towards insurance for body worn video cameras.

Salter’s Inkshop received £257.06 for leaflets, posters and competition forms; Solid Entertainments £1,698 for Darwen Live management and crowd control barrier; EMC Productions £5,220 for Darwen Live stage equipment; and Cue Music £1,850 for Darwen Live.

Payments related to St George’s Day included Circus Malabristas, £1,188 for entertainment; Ignite Parties £200 for face painting; and Rob Falcon £160 for a Punch and Judy show; and £100 donation to the Royal Society of St George.

Other Darwen Live payments included £402 to Heras fencing.
