POLICE are appealing for information after a robbery in Chorley.

The incident happened at shortly before 8.30pm on Friday, June 20th when a man called at a detached bungalow on Sutton Grove.

He rang the doorbell and when the victim, a 57 year old woman, answered the door he pushed his way in brandishing a knife and demanded money.

He then made off with £80 cash.

He is described as white, aged 20-25 years, 5ft10, medium build with short dark brown hair, a black lettered tattoo on left side of neck.

He wore a scruffy white t-shirt, blue jeans with two front pockets and a rear pocket. He also had scruffy dirty trainers with a velcro fastener. He had a black handled peeling knife and spoke with a Liverpool accent.

Det Con Liberty Wadsworth, of South CID, said: “The aggrieved has been left distraught by this incident and I would appeal to anyone who has witnessed anything suspicious or who has any information to contact us.”
