LANCASHIRE residents have been urged to recycle the ‘forgotten items' that often end up in their general waste bin.
They include items like bleach bottles, toilet roll tubes and deodorant cans which can even make football shorts.
Lancashire County council waste boss Janice Hanson has made the plea as part of National Recycle Week which runs until Sunday.
It aims to get everyone to think about what else they could be recycling.
County Hanson said: “Recycling is not just for the kitchen, there is so much more you can recycle upstairs, downstairs, outside and in the garage.
“Items like bleach bottles, toilet roll tubes and deodorant cans are often forgotten.
“Unless you recycle it, it can't become something else.
“For example the strips being used by England during the World Cup are made from an average 18 recycled bottles each."
