A NINTH man has appeared before magistrates charged in connection with an incident when a sawn-off shotgun was fired in Kempton Rise, Blackburn.

Andrew Robert Leigh, 25, of Old Lancaster Lane, Preston, was sent on bail to Preston Crown Court charged with possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and conspiracy to commit violent disorder.

Eight men appeared before the court the previous day charged with the same conspiracy charge and three of them with the firearms offence.

Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said the incident related to a dispute between two rival gangs in December.
