A FUNDRAISING family fun day will be held for ‘Lolo’s wheels’, a campaign launched to buy an electric wheelchair for a 10-year-old girl with a rare enzyme disorder.

Charity Whizz Kidz has promised Enola Halleron, who has mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS), a wheelchair before she starts high school next year. But Enola’s grandmother, Susan Kirke, said the campaign would continue. Susan, who lives in Salesbury said: “We have sent the application off to Whizz Kidz and hopefully, Enola will get everything she needs.

“But the fundraising must continue. The charity cannot pay for everything and so we are carrying on with the campaign.

“We are hoping to raise between £7,000-£8,000 to adapt a vehicle so that Enola’s mum can drive with the wheelchair in the car.”

The family fun day will be held at Salesbury Memorial Hall in Ribchester Road from 1pm until 5pm on Sunday ((May 18)) and will include lots of fun and games for children, as well as a toy stall manned by Enola herself. Any extra money raised will go to MPS Society.
