THE final consultation event over the academisation of Darwen Vale High School is on Saturday, from 11am to 1pm.
It will be the final time for parents to voice their concerns and opinions on the Government’s decision to force the school into academy status.
Darwen’s prospective Labour candidate at next year’s election has offered to represent people’s views at the event.
Will Straw said: “I am holding a meeting with Local Dialogue, the group which is conducting the consultation, later in the afternoon.
“If you are unable to make the consultation meeting and feel strongly about the proposed changes, I am very happy to represent your views at this meeting.
“I have been concerned all along by the prospect of a single provider running both secondary schools in Darwen. To contact Mr Straw, email willstraw4 rossendale.darwen@gmail. com
