READ Parish Council has announced that electors can view their accounts for the financial year from next month.
The parish council’s accounts for the year ending March 31 will be on display from May 6 to June 3.
Any parish resident has the right to inspect the accounts and make copies of the annual return and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating to the accounting statements.
Local electors and their representatives have the right to question the auditor about the accounts and object to them or any item in them.
Written notice of an objection must first be given to the auditor and a copy sent to the council.
The audit will be carried out by BDO LLP of Southampton.
