A NEW YouGov poll commissioned on behalf of the Campaign for Fairer Gambling has unearthed the ‘growing public discord’ towards fixed odds betting terminals.

A total of 70 per cent of those surveyed agreed there should be extra restrictions on the high stake gambling machines. This is something Haslingden and Hyndburn MP Graham Jones has also been campaigning for.

73 per cent of those who responded to the government poll said they believed the maximum stake of £100 was too high and should be reduced, with 61 per cent supporting a reduction on the maximum stake from £100 a spin to £2.A spokesman for the Campaign for Fairer Gambling said: “We have known for some time that FOBTs are a concern.”
