Bishop of Blackburn embraces new technology

THE Church of England in Lancashire is embracing social media in a bid to reach a wider audience.

For the first time the latest edition of its Diocesan Directory contains QR code links for smartphones to online resources such as the Diocese website and online versions of the content contained in the Directory.

There is also a QR code link to the Diocese’s new YouTube channel which has been running for a few months.

Several churches are also getting in on the act, with St Mary Magdalene's Church in Clitheroe offering wifi, and St Leonard's in Langho even providing a ‘social media hub’.

The Bishop of Blackburn, Rt Rev Julian Henderson, has also given his backing to a new ‘prayer app’ initiative launced recently by the Church of England.

He said: “This directory provides an invaluable resource for better and more efficient communication within the Anglican family in Lancashire.

“That sense of being a family and a team is crucial for our encouragement in the work of witness and evangelism to which as a church we have been called.

“Feeling isolated and alone in ministry will hamper our enthusiasm, whereas a sense of belonging to the wider family of the Diocese will give us confidence and fellowship.”

The Bishop is also about to embark on a new phase of his learning about the area he now represents, with a tour that will eventually see him meet with every member of the parish clergy in the county.

Burner, my old fruit,
What you fail to realise is that, the very word church, doesn't mean a building, in it's strictest sense, it's a group of like minded peoples.
The great thing about religion is, not a one of them, in any form, commands the building of these strange edifices.
You, and you alone, pray to your Gods, wherever you are, in your time of need. It's a one-to-one thing and because so many are doing it, all at once, you don't get an answering text message nor email, it either happens or doesn't.
When they say congregation, I think of the meetings, where Moses said, I'm going to see Pharoah and tell him..
Go up this mountain..
Or, someone else, doing the sermon on the mount..
Perhaps, just a few, having a meal together, like the Last Supper, where there was a plan, to change the World.
Maybe, some lone soldier, about to face an attack, praying for safety...
Pacing up and down in the waiting room of the maternity ward, thinking of keeping her safe, is in it's own way, a form of prayer.
Perhaps just wishing, that someone you care for, is safe, is the same, even if you proclaim to have no Gods.
If the retired Pope sets up a website, so that people can send a prayer to him, as their belief is that, he is theirs Gods person on Earth, you have to respect that.
It is, amongst all of us, a matter of faith.
Don't take away their Santa, even if you don't believe yourself.

and..
If anyone is thinking of shouting out about my attacks on Muslims..
I suggest that you look at my commentary about the Mormons, on some sites.

Their belief is that, a man, puts stones in an hat and can decipher texts by doing this..
Their higher church, are unable to answer why, there are no black bishops or above, in their version of religious equality of men, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Why women are not ordained..
Don't think that my bashing of religions is restricted to this locality, am globallly annoying...
did I ever mention that, I read a book, once..?

My Lord Bishop,
Would you kindly ensure that, in the spirit of equality of thought, that the English versions of, books of the Apocrypha, are available for those that wish to read them, are available in local libraries.
These 'hidden', non-canonical books, would either create dialogue or dispute, the church teachings that prevail, that modern people are more than capable of handling now.
Am sure that many of the congregation would love the chance to read those Greek books of the 'Deuterocanonical', in order to better understand how the church has chosen to hide things from them, for 'their own good'.
After all, it goes to the very core of their Nicene creed, doesn't it?

did I mention that, I read a book, once?

For me to decry that, Muslims don't read their own books, as my own church hides a set of books from me, really undermines my position, as a defender of the faith, doesn't it?
They give us words of his child bride, in the chapters of Hadhrat Ayesha.
Yet, you hide the book of Didymos Judas Thomas, why?
Are you scared that, some bright spark will read it, then state that, it was all an allusion, Jesus did die on the cross, and that Thomas subsumed his place, to create a cult following?
Or have you never read those books in Greek?
If the Muslims ever read those books, I would be like as Daniel, in the lions den, only they have a greater mission and they will, quite frankly, rip me to shreds, whenever I defend the church.
We, as Protestants, have no love for the Papist church and their dogmatic beliefs. Let us, be the first to expose the very why we don't trust them with our faith. They have consistently lied, hidden and subsumed the church of Christ, for their own ends from the very beginnings of it.
They follow the teachings of Paul, that very man whom converted to Christ on the road to Tarsus, whilst ignoring Peter, the rock, upon whom he said, I will found my church.
There comes a time to state, enough is enough!
In whom do we all believe, Jesus or the words that the Catholics give us, as being his words?
Do we have a religion, or these mendacious, self serving, pederasts, whom hide anything and everything, that does not suit the furtherance of their twisted cause?
When a priest sexually interferes with a child in his pastoral care, we should seek the highest penalty, not as they do, shuffle him off to some obscure place, to begin again, as it only adds fuel to our detractors.
When a church gives an edict to state that contraception is against Gods law, and be enforced upon poor peoples, we should shout from the rooftops, it's iniquity, not quietly acquiesce.
You Bishops of my church are the reason why I have left, as you no longer represent the basic tenets of the protesting peoples of Christianity.
Now, you seek to make friends with Muslims, whose basic tenet is set out in Quran, which you blithely seek to ignore, for your own ends.

Much as I've read a book, I suggest that you do the same.
Fact, Jesus was a jew
and in hadiths, you idiots..
Ibn 'Umar reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: You will fight against the Jews and you will kill them until even a stone would say: Come here, Muslim, there is a Jew (hiding himself behind me) ; kill him.
and you want to make friends..
Quran 5:52, a book that they claim that cannot be changed..

Oh, and by the way..
I won't go and meet, in conversation, to resolve any issues that I may have with Islam. that woman, whom is sent to engage with us, on Muslim matters.
Because of this ruling, in Hadith ul_Buqhari, Volume 3, Book 48, Number 826
From their own books..
Buqhari was a bit of a writer, he wrote 9 volumes.

Of course, there will be Muslim detractors to my opinions, I therefore refer them to there own, home grown website, where beards greater than mine, rule.

in my research of Islam,
am utterly unable to find, in any subject, where Islam has improved the species of mankind.
all I have seen, thus far, is that you have taken others ideas, then promoted them as your own.
