BURNLEY’S long-awaited victory over Blackburn on Sunday is sure to live forever in the memory of Clarets fans everywhere.

And now supporters are being offered the chance to take home a little bit of history from the mom- entous 2-1 win – and help a good cause at the same time.

Rovers fan John Wyche is auctioning off a host of signed memorabilia from derby day to raise funds for East Lancash-ire Hospice.

Mr Wyche, a long-time supporter of the hospice, got all Rovers and Clar-ets players to sign a spec- ially-framed plaque bear- ing the date of the game, and the scoreline.

Mr Wyche, 55, said: “I wouldn’t be able to do this without the help of the staff and players at Blackburn Rovers, and I would also like to thank the Burnley players for taking the time to do this to help us raise the mon-ey needed to care for the patients.”

As well as the plaque, Mr Wyche is also auct-ioning pictures of the Ewood Park scoreboard at the final whistle, a ticket stub signed by Burnley boss Sean Dyche, and a match programme signed by the entire Clar- ets squad, as well as Turf Moor legends Willie Irvine and Martin Dobson.

Mr Wyche, who has raised thousands for the hospice, said: “I’ve also got a teamsheet signed by all the Burnley players.

“Obviously, all the gear is going to be much more appealing to Burnley fans, given the result. I was hoping for the match ball too, but Blackburn’s kit-man said it never reach-ed the dressing room!”

To bid for the plaque from Burnley’s first win over Blackburn since 1979, e-mail sharon.crymble@eastlancshospice.org.uk with your name, con-tact telephone number and amount bid.

There is a £75 reserve price on the plaque.

Bidding will close at 9am on Monday.
