A FUNDRAISING day to help send a disabled Accrington youngster to Disney World will be held tonight.

Four-year-old Finley Rosbotham was born with part of his brain missing, and his family was told he would never be able to walk.

But young Finley, who has cerebral palsy, defied doctors and now goes to a mainstream school.

His full-time mum, Kelly, said previous plans to send Finley to America for an expensive operation were shelved, and family friends now want to send him to a Disney resort.

A party evening at Accrington Stanley Football Club will start at 7pm, and will feature a raffle and tombola, a DJ, and food.

A car boot sale has already raised £500, and Stanley manager James Beattie had made a ‘very generous donation’, Finley’s mum, Kelly said.

Finley, who lives with his mum, dad Ivan, brother Mackenzie, and sisters Ellie and Paige, in Pearl Court, Accrington, attended Holly House in Accrington, which provides comprehensive support to youngsters with special needs.

The family has campaigned tirelessly through the Finley’s Friend charity to raise new services and products for the charity’s Blackburn Road premises.
