Sabden child photographer incident is false alarm

Lancashire Telegraph: Sabden child photographer incident is false alarm Sabden child photographer incident is false alarm

WORRIES about a person taking pictures of parents and children near a primary school turned out to be false.

A person was spotted taking the pictures in Watt Street and Pendle Street East in Sabden near St Mary’s RC Primary School.

After investigating reports, the police discovered it was a local councillor taking pictures of the traffic to highlight concern with a recent planning application.

Plans to build 14 homes in Pendle Street East, which are opposed by the parish council, will be discussed by Ribble Valley Borough Council.

As a photographer it is very difficult to take photographs of places and people without raising suspicion or for not having permission to photograph a building or people etc even if your subject is something else.
It is now a sad reflection of the society in which we now live. Personally i blame the justice system for not imposing greater penalties for those involved in child exploitation etc. or maybe. central government for not giving clearer guidance.to the justice system to impose stiffer penalties.
Blame who you like.

Once again, the plod are getting above themselves.

This country's becoming more totalitarian ever day, and the plod are all too enthusiastically accepting the role of the thought police.

Since when has it been a criminal offence to take photographs of anything in a public place? And if someone wants to take pictures of snotty-nosed kids what wrong are they doing? It's the paranoid idiots who report them who should be punished for wasting police time.
