A WOMAN suffered ‘substantial bruising’ to her face after a disagreement in a Blackburn street.

The 18-year-old victim, who was with another woman, was punched in the face during the altercation in Stoneyhurst Road at around 1am today.

She was knocked to the floor by the man and needed hospital treatment.

Det sgt Adrian McHugh said: “I would appeal for anybody who saw what happened to come forward.

“Initially, we suspected the victim had a broken jaw.

“That has now been reviewed and it is not broken, but there is a substantial amount of bruising and a cut to the head.”
