County award is catch of the day for Great Mitton's Three Fishes
A RIBBLE Valley pub has won recognition as serving up some of the best food in Lancashire.
The Three Fishes in Great Mitton has been awarded The Good Pub Guide 2014 Lancashire Dining Pub of the Year.
The pub reopened its doors in July after a £300,000 refurbishment.
Assistant manager Beth Naffaro, who has worked at the pub for three years, said: “We are all very proud of being given the award and I think it reflects all the hard work that we have put into this business over the last year.
“The food that we provide here is some of the best around and I think that being given this award really proves that.
“We are always trying to make sure that our staff are happy and we keep on constant contact with our local suppliers.
“People expect the best when they come here and this award shows that we can offer that.
“I hope that the pub keeps on getting the recognition that it deserves.”
The Good Pub Guide 2014 features more than 4,700 pubs from across the country and is organised county by county.
The pub, which was opened in 2004, is described as a ‘contemporary and stylish pub’ with ‘tremendous attention to detail, excellent regional food given a modern touch and interesting drinks’.
Clitheroe resident Harold Cameron said: “I have been coming to the pub for years now and it offers great food to say the least.
“I’m glad that they have won this award because they deserve it.
“It’s important for people to know where the best places are and I’m sure that they will go from strength to strength from now on.”
The pub is part of Ribble Valley Inns and is overseen by the Michelin-starred chef-patron of Northcote, Nigel Haworth.
