Hyndburn MP's appeal to swap cigarettes for savings

AN MP is calling on smokers to swap cigarettes for savings.

Hyndburn MP Graham Jones spoke out in support of National No Smoking Day yesterday.

He said: “The average 20-a-day smoker could save £7 a day, £49 a week, £210 a month, and £2,555 a year if they quit.

“Like everyone else supporting National No Smoking Day, I would like to encourage thousands of smokers in the area to ‘swap fags for swag’ by quitting.

“As part of the campaign I am supporting the annual health campaign, run by the British Heart Foundation, which shows how smokers could treat themselves to all sorts of ‘swag’ if they quit.”

Sorry to disagree, why should people stop the only pleasure they may have just so the government can take what they save off them in taxes, bedroom tax,etc etc, next you'll be telling people how much toilet roll there allowed to use, if people want to kill themselves with smoking, alcohol etc etc at least there enjoying themselves doing it.
