Whalley pupils explore village

YEAR one pupils from Oakhill College in Whalley explored their village to find out a bit more about their surroundings.

The class followed a map of Whalley and walked all the way from the school in Wiswell Lane to the River Ribble.

They then walked past the library, up to the railway station and made their way back to school just in time for lunch. Maria Bland from the college said: “The children were amazing and set a good pace and never once complained about the distance walked.”

Is this really a newsworthy article or just a PR stunt. Most schools' Y1 pupils do the same in their own localities.
