Depressed Blackburn woman grew cannabis
6:00am Thursday 14th March 2013 in News
A 41-YEAR-OLD woman decided to experiment with growing her own cannabis after finding it was the best ‘medication’ for her depression.
Blackburn magistrates heard Nicola Hull admitted to police that she was a daily user of the drug.
Hull, of Rockliffe Street, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to producing cannabis.
She was remanded on bail for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
Simon Farnsworth, defending, said his client had suffered from chronic depression since 1997 and had tried all kinds of medication.
He said: “She finds cannabis helps her more than anything and was experimenting with growing her own because she was finding it expensive to buy.”
