Homeless man made threats in hope of a bed

A 25-YEAR-OLD old man looking for a roof over his head threatened to put his ex-girlfriend’s windows through if she didn’t let him in.

Blackburn magistrates heard Kelvin Ashley Parkinson was still outside the house when police arrived and held out his hands so they could handcuff him.

Parkinson, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour. He was fined £100 with £105 costs which was set against the 36 hours he had spent in custody since his arrest.

Graham Parkinson, defending, said his client accepted he had said things in the heat of the moment that he didn’t mean.

“His behaviour and the things he said may have caused her some concern and he apologises for that,” said Mr Parkinson.

“All he wanted was somewhere to put his head down for the night.”
