X Factor star Diana Vickers has been back to the school where she was inspired to follow her musical dreams.

The former Westholme pupil has been at the Meins Road senior school to officially open its new music centre today.

The music centre reopened to pupils in September after the whole building had a £250,000 facelift.

Good grief, how pathetic are some of the comments on here?? She's done very well for herself. Clearly better than some here!

We had two youngsters visit Blackburn College last year...one off one of the TV "talent" programmes & Holly Bleasdale. Both nice youngsters.
At the time I couldn't help feeling one would be a transitory flash in the pan, the other of some greater substance & longevity.

I'm not knocking her, but it is a shame, we don't need more celebrities. I wish people would put their intelligence and education to better use.

I was dismayed to learn that Emeli Sande gave up medicine to be a singer.
