A STUNNING teenager has proved she has brains and beauty after coming third in a national modelling competition.
Tutu Mukelabai has always had a keen interest in fashion and has recently appeared in teenage girls’ magazine Bliss.
The 13-year old from Hyndburn was shortlisted from hundreds of entries for the final six of competition.
Tutu, who studies at Rhyddings Business and Enterprise School, Oswaldtwistle, said: “I was a bit bored during the summer holidays. My mum had bought me a couple of magazine and I saw the modelling competition and entered.
“I didn’t know if I would hear anything, but I was selected for the final six. I was really excited when I found out.”
Tutu went on a photoshoot in August and the magazine containing her images was published in December.
She said: “When the magazine came out, I went to buy it on the day and I was dancing around when I saw my pictures. My mum is really proud of me.”
During the February half term Tutu and her mum travelled to London to visit a number of modelling agencies which said she needed to be 14 to be an adult model Tutu, who also plays field hockey, said: “I want to pursue modelling, but I also do my best at school.
“Modelling is something I want to do, but I also want to be a research scientist.
“I hope the modelling will pay for me to go to university where I would like to study chemistry.”
