Rossendale MP praises move to cut energy bills

ROSSENDALE and Darwen MP Jake Berry has praised steps taken by energy regulator Ofgem to reform the market.

He said the body’s announcement that it would cap tariff options to make it easier for consumers to compare contracts meant ‘cheaper energy bills for people across East Lancashire came one step closer’.

Mr Berry said: “I know that people across East Lancashire are concerned about their energy bills and it is right that action is being taken to bring them down.

“Ofgem’s reforms take a big step in the right direction, and follow the Prime Minister’s promise last year to get the lowest tariffs for consumers.”

What a twonk! They're going to delete the lowest priced tariffs which energy 'providers' claim they are passing on at a loss. The middle rate now will become the lowest, and the highest rate will stay the same. Short sighted policy again from the twonks!
