A TEENAGER who went to the Longridge home of his ex-girlfriend armed with a hammer has walked free from court.
Preston Crown Court heard Ryan Stone barged his way into his former partner’s home and repeatedly punched a man he found sitting on her bed.
The hammer was recovered from the garden and Stone later told police he had taken it with him knowing he was going to fight with the other man, prosecutors said.
Stone, 18, of Burnslack Road, Ribbleton, Preston, pleaded guilty to assaulting Connor Freeman and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.
He was sentenced to a 12-months community order, a 12-month supervision order and given a two month curfew between 8pm and 6am.
Prosecutors said when Stone arrived on the doorstep Sarah Mitchell asked him to go away. He pushed his way in and went straight upstairs where he found Mr Freeman sitting on the bed and attacked him.
