A CHEMISTS in Blackburn has launched a public health campaign after winning Healthy Living Pharmacy accreditation.
Whalley Range Pharmacy, in Whalley Range, is running the week-long event from yesterday which will see them offer support and information on issues such as smoking, obesity, sexual health, alcohol and harm reduction.
There will be free blood pressure checks, correct inhaler techniques demonstrations, free BMI checks, drugs and alcohol support, competitions, prizes and resources for healthy lifestyle.
Experts in drug awareness and substance misuse will be available tomorrow.
Sajid Musa from the pharmacy said: “Pharmacies are well-placed to support the community to improve the overall health and wellbeing as they are readily accessible including evenings and weekends.
“We are pleased to have been recognised as a Healthy Living Pharmacy and to have been awarded the HLP quality mark.
“The pharmacy team is excited at the prospect of being in a position to influence the health and well-being of the people they see on a daily basis.”
