Ofsted inspectors praise committed staff at Darwen nursery
10:33am Tuesday 12th February 2013 in News
PROUD staff at a Darwen nursery are celebrating after receiving a good Ofsted report.
The report comes after Marshmallow’s day nursery, iin Marsh House Lane, recently celebrated its 10th anniversary.
It was one of the first pre-school units to be monitored under the new framework of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in the area, that was implemented from the government in September 2012.
From the December inspection, the Ofsted report said: “The welcoming, child-centred nursery is well organised and the manager has high expectations for children.
"The manager and staff are totally committed, dedicated and passionate about their work with children. The manager has a positive influence on the standards and practice, she is open, honest and flexible and is consistently looking at ways to improve.”
Manager Julia Crook said: “We are really proud of what we have achieved and really happy with the report. The inspector said staff have detailed knowledge of every child's needs and future needs.
"All children are at their expected level of development and in some areas are above their expected level and I am positive that this will remain in the future. It’s great news.”
