PUPILS are being taught the importance of keeping active as part of a new programme of activities.
The Change4Life Sports Clubs aims to help create fun, vibrant and exciting sports clubs around the country and capture the essence of the sport without directly delivering sport-specific content.
Scott Low, PE teacher at Mount Carmel RC High School in Accrington, visited St Anne’s and St Joseph’s RC Primary School in the town to deliver an equipment package and explain how resources can be used to deliver one of these sports clubs at their school.
The equipment package has a creative theme and enables activities such as cheerleading, dance, gymnastics, skipping and trampolining to be delivered.
Mount Carmel students Harry Price and Rebecca Winnard, both ex-pupils of St Anne’s and St Joseph’s RC Primary, along with Matthew Sutton and Eleisha Chamberlain accompanied Scott Low to help demonstrate the activities.
