Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess popped in to Blackburn College yesterday to share his experience of the music industry.

Tim, lead singer of the Indie band, was interviewed by students over his latest solo project.

He also took part in a photoshoot which the students will now use to create a video to one of his famous tracks.

The singer’s entire visit was also recorded by students at the college.

Vice principal Lisa O’Loughlin said: “Tim came to college to do a band session in the college’s television studio as part of a skill building exercise for Level 3 BTEC and foundation art and design students.

"The students will produce a video for Tim and a recording of the session to help build their professional skills. The music videos will be uploaded to the Charles Saatchi’s website Autumn Music.

"This is a fantastic opportunity and an excellent example of how employability skills can be combined into the curriculum for what is sometimes considered to be hard to reach sectors as part of our investment in the students and their future career prospects.”
