Hyndburn offers bulky waste collection service
4:28pm Tuesday 22nd January 2013 in News
HYNDBURN residents are being urged to take advantage of the council’s free bulky waste service.
The council is offering to collect any unwanted large items such as mattresses, furniture or sofas.
Cabinet member for Recycling and Deputy Leader, Coun Munsif Dad, said: “I urge everyone to carry on recycling as much as you can. Now we are collecting metal, wood and mattresses, more bulky waste is being recycled than ever before and each household is entitled to one collection per calendar month up to a maximum of six items.”
Any furniture or electrical items in good condition and in working order can also be donated to Hyndburn Used Furniture Service who will distribute them to families in the local community.
For more information call the council’s customer services on 01254 388111.
