A MAJOR consultation exercise over the future of dementia services in Lancashire will see a series of public forums taking place.

Lancashire Care NHS Trust has put forward two options for the future of dementia services countywide.

The first would see all patients travelling to The Harbour, in Blackpool, and a range of community-based services.

In the second option centres would be offered in Blackpool and Blackburn, but there would be a more limited range of community support.

The first East Lancashire date for the consultation round will be at Accrington Town Hall this Thursday from 1pm to 3pm. Then there will be a session on Friday, January 11 at Darwen Library Theatre, between 10am and noon.

On January 15, The Grand in Clitheroe will play host from 1pm to 3pm, with Burnley FC the venue on January 16, from 6pm to 8pm.

The Rossendale consultation is at Rawtenstall’s St Mary’s Chambers, on January 21, 6pm to 8pm, and the trust moves to Nelson’s Training 2000 on January 28, from 10am to noon.
