CAMPAIGNERS fighting poverty across East Lancashire are looking to branch out their activities in 2013.
Supporters of Christians Against Poverty are urging churchgoers in Blackburn Diocese to consider establishing their own chapter, to further the charity’s work.
In particular the charity offers a money management course, to help people in East Lancashire to budget more efficiently day-to-day.
Sheila Fielding, the Blackburn centre manager, said: “Real poverty exists in this diocese and debt is a major contributor. For people on very low incomes, struggling to make ends meet, debt repayments can mean cutting out regular meals, heating, clothing or medication.”
