THE victim of an unprovoked attack was kicked unconscious after being punched to the ground.
Blackburn magistrates heard CCTV footage showed Christopher James Dickinson chasing his victim down the street before launching a brutal attack.
Dickinson, 29, of St Gabriels Avenue, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to assaulting Stephen Ashworth causing him actual bodily harm. He was sent on bail to Preston Crown Court for sentence.
Pat Bramley, prosecuting, said that after being punched to the ground Mr Ashworth was repeatedly kicked to the head causing him to lose consciousness. “More by luck than good management he wasn’t seriously injured,” said Miss Bramley.
Jonathan Taylor, defending, said the victim had made certain comments about the defendant’s wife and children and Dickinson had responded.
“I concede this is a matter that will be dealt with at the Crown Court,” said Mr Taylor.
