A SPECTACULAR fireworks display preceded a lantern parade before the Lancashire Telegraph’s popular annual Carol Service last night.
The parade set off from King William Street, Blackburn, walking around the town to the Cathedral grounds before the service at 7.30pm.
Seasonal music was played by the Salvation Army band as visitors arrived and carols included Once in Royal David’s City, Good King Wencelas and The Holly and the Ivy.
The music was directed by Shaun Turnbull, and the welcome and bidding prayer was delivered by The Very Rev Christopher Armstrong.
A collection was also taken for the work of the Cathedral.
