Hyndburn residents warned over flytipping

AN ENFORCEMENT team served over a dozen notices to residents for flytipping in early morning checks.

Hyndburn Council’s deputy leader Clare Pritchard joined the team at 6am on Tuesday to check on flytipping in the area of George Street, off Oswaldtwistle’s Union Road.

Up to 15 residents who had piled black bin bags next to wheelie bins were given the notices.

Coun Pritchard said: “It’s been a great experience to go out with the team and see the sterling work they do. They are out in all weathers checking sites where there’s been rubbish dumping and fly tipping, looking for evidence.

"We take a no nonsense approach to this kind of offence and we have no hesitation in taking people to court for this type of anti-social behaviour.”

Absolute rubbish!!

If they really want to stop fly tipping, then sort out Foxhill bank and Coach road. Fly tipping has been going on there for the last 20 years and is getting worse. Last time I went down there I had to reverse out because somebody had tipped a load right in the middle of the brow.

Do it right or give up Hyndburn council!! And stop pretending to be doing something effective...because it isn't
