AN RIBBLE Valley musician will perform in front of thousands when his band supports the Kaiser Chiefs.

Johnny Eveson has gone from performing at his parents’ Chipping farm to becoming part of the northern leg of the Kaiser Chief’s UK tour.

His group Heavyball, which has been based in London more recently, will also be playing with the band for two performances in Holland.

Bass player Johnny, 34, met the rest Heavyball, Nottingham brothers Matt and Habs Salisbury in primary school, before his family moved to Lancashire.

Since moving to London the band has played a number of gigs and festivals in London and in the North West.

Johnny’s band has also been a regular at charity events at his parents’ home Dinkling Green Farm.

After an accidental meeting between the Kaiser Chief’s manager and their own, the group heard the amazing news they would be supporting one of the most successful bands in recent years.

Former Longridge High and Blackburn College student Johnny, said it was a dream come true.

He said: “It’s still sinking in really because it’s such a huge breakthrough. It’s pretty exciting and we are looking forward to Preston because so many of our friends and family are going to be there. It’ll be a real homecoming.

“It’s a massive deal for us when you think we were playing my parents’ farm doing covers three years ago and in Holland we wil before a couple of thousand people. You never know what’s going to happen next.”

Heavyball are supporting the Kaiser Chiefs at the Guild Hall in Preston on Tuesday, February 18. For more information and tour dates see www.heavyball.net
