A CHARITY that helps young people in Blackburn and Darwen reach their potential has joined forces with a gym to help more children get at least one gift this Christmas.
Ben Fox, of Sublime Fitness, based at The Whitehall Hotel, Darwen, came up with the idea as a way of spreading some festive cheer and to give a boost to families who are feeling the pinch this year.
He said: “Christmas is a time for children, with many of us having great memories of dashing downstairs to see if Father Christmas had been. It’s a sad fact that this won’t be the case for many children.”
Ben is selling personal fitness packages worth £120, including diet and assesments, for a minimum donation of £35.
All the proceeds will go to The John Bury Trust, which has indentified families who need help with presents.
Trust chairwoman Pamela Rogers said: “We are always looking for ways to continue our work which aims to make a small but significant difference to the lives of children and young people.”
