Blackburn man punched for ‘looking at man’s girlfriend’
10:00pm Thursday 29th November 2012 in News
A 34-YEAR-OLD Blackburn man punched a neighbour who he accused of ‘looking at’ his girlfriend.
Blackburn magistrates heard Richard Gregson and his partner were drinking outside their flat when the man returned home.
Seconds after he had gone inside he answered a knock at the door and was punched without warning by Gregson.
Gregson, of Robinson Street, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to assaulting Abdel Halim Haddour.
He was made subject to a curfew between 8pm and 7am for 28 days and ordered to pay £100 compensation.
Andrew Church-Taylor, defending, said that at the time of the incident, Gregson had a significant drink problem.
