HESTON Blumenthal’s day in Darwen is screened on television tonight.
The popular celebrity chef, who came to town as part of his new series, ‘Heston’s Fantastical Food, hosted the world’s largest tea party in the Market Square earlier this year.
Mr Blumenthal attracted a crowd of hundreds to the town centre as he brewed up a gigantic pot of tea and provided over-sized chocolate biscuits to be dunked.
The aim of the show was to bring back the great British tea break, which was an institution in industrial towns like Darwen in the past.
The episode is the third in the series, with the previous episodes seeing him cook up a huge breakfast in Birmingham and a gigantic ice cream in Gloucester.
The show goes out on Channel Four at 9pm.
