STAFF at Accrington and Rossendale College packed their bags for charity.

A group of staff from the college held a sponsored bag pack at Sainsbury’s in Darwen for the anti-violence Every Action Has Consequences charity – their chosen charity of the year.

The charity was set up by Dave and Pat Rogers, of Blackburn, after their son Adam was killed by a single punch on a night out in the town. It is backed by the Lancashire Telegraph.

The staff were joined by charity representatives and hope to raise both money and awareness of their cause.

The charity was chosen by the college and all proceeds raised by the social committee will be donated to it.

Neville Rickard, chairman of Accrington and Rossendale College’s social committee said: “It’s a brilliant charity and this year we’re looking to raise £5,000 on their behalf. “The college chose to support EAHC because it has strong links with our learners.”
