A DRUG dealer, who supplied heroin and crack cocaine in Blackburn, has been jailed for five years nine months.

Lukman Abdullah Bapu, 32, of Carr Street, Blackburn, was sentenced at Preston Crown Court after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin.

Bapu, who was already on licence after being convicted of supplying drugs in 2008, was arrested after officers saw him carrying out a drug deal on Lynwood Road on September 12.

A search of his home led to the discovery of a significant amount of crack cocaine and heroin, £2,200 cash, scales and mobile phones.

DI Mark Winstanley said: “Bapu is a prolific drug dealer who supplied heroin and crack cocaine on the streets of Blackburn.

“We know the misery drugs bring to local residents and we are determined to take action to remove them and those who deal them from our communities.”

Bapu will now serve the remainder of his previous sentence before starting his new term of imprisonment in March 2013.

Anyone with any information or concerns about drug dealing in their community should call the police on 101.
