A NEW cohort of midwifery students has been welcomed by East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust (ELHT).
The 11 students from the University of Central Lancashire will be on clinical placement at hospitals run by the Trust for the next three years.
Anita Fleming, head of Midwifery, Quality & Safety at the Trust, said: “As a Trust we continue to deliver the highest quality of care to our patients.
“We employ dedicated staff and it’s great to welcome new recruits with new ideas who will help the Trust continue to develop its maternity services.
“East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust boasts state-of-the-art maternity facilities across East Lancashire giving women more choice regarding their maternity care.”
ELHT provides a range of birth choices for women and their families, from home births, midwife-led birth centres in Blackburn, Burnley and Rossendale and a Birth Suite at Burnley General Hospital for women who require or want input from an obstetric team.
