Awards to recognise achievements of East Lancashire's young people
2:02pm Friday 2nd November 2012 in News
NOMINATIONS for six special awards to recognise the achievements of young people are being invited.
The county council’s Celebrate Youth 2013 is scheduled to take place next February, to pay tribute to the contribution young people make in their communities.
Young people can be nominated as individuals or groups in the following six award categories: community engagement, beyond barriers, inspiring volunteering or advocacy, sporting achievement, artistic achievement, and improving lives.
Nominations should be returned by November 30 and will be assessed and shortlisted by a judging panel of young people.
Awards will be presented on the evening by a host of celebrities and VIP's.
Each award winner will receive a special prize. There will also be an overall award winner on the night.
The evening will also feature presentations of work young people have been involved in, including some performances demonstrating their talents.
